The face of grace

Yesterday I had the honor of watching my daughter, who is going through a most difficult time put aside her own needs to be concerned for not one, but two other people and their problems.

I would have preferred to see my daughter not face devastating circumstances, but in the present circumstances, I am honored to see what a truly wonderful person she is and a gift to society. I hope one day she realizes her own potential. I don't know that i1 the face of equally challenging circumstances, I could hold my self to the same level grace!

Birthday!

Thought I would share bits-n-bobs of my birthday. I was surrounded by people who love and care about me. We celebrated a day early as Monday was the first day back to work for Jeff, the 1st day of Amy's new job, the first day back at school, etc., etc., etc. So, everyone descended on our house and we spent the afternoon playing games and eating not one but TWO cakes. The day before I bakes my own birthday cake from scratch! (Not to be outdone by my eldest grandson) and Jeff had the job of decorating it. He said the writing looked like a child did it, BUT in his defense the canister of icings all had air bubbles making it really hard to do. Neil and Charissa brought over a cake too, so I HAD to a have a little slice of each:-)

Later, after the opening of my gifts, and the games were played we headed over to Players. We had dinner, and played games, and won prizes. It was really great, but my favorite thing was being all together!
